Illness or condition of an immediate family members (father, mother and siblings) that may lead to an increased risk of the insured contracting the same illness or a similar condition.

Things to consider

  • Insured age and gender
  • Nature of the condition
  • Number of family members with the same condition. The higher the number, the stricter the decision
  • Family member's age at diagnosis
  • Degree of relationship
  • Associated risk factors (e.g., smoker with a family history of coronary artery disease)
